Updates....

The first little "leaves" of a wedding sampler broke the surface today...

Am wandering the wilds of Staffordshire/Yorkshire/Cheshire while poking into my ancestors' bidness...

Spring is still hanging on the edge of springing...

And the kids are waiting impatiently for sunny windowsills.

You have FIVE little darlings? I didn't realise!

My two are snuggled up next to me right now, fast asleep(it's winter!)

Enjoy the geneology! :-) One side of my family has been traced - it's just fascinating!

Actually we have 10!!!! little darlings (sadly, it was 12 this time last year...:-( But some of them are not allowed in the bedroom, because they commit Atrocities upon the pillows...

I am having a lovely time poking around in my "roots", even though I don't believe some of it, it's still interesting reading! :-D

Where is the black cat's head?! It looks like it's been eaten by the grey cat :)

Jane - I'm a history buff anyway, so am really enjoying some of the old old stuff. I have an alleged ancestor a generation or two after the Conquest who, while warring with a neighbor, raided an abbey on the neighbor's property, tossed the monks, fortified the abbey, and had deep ditches dug then concealed in the fields all around. When he heard the enemy was approaching, he rode out to reconnoiter - and he and his horse fell into one of his own ditches. His thigh was broken, and apparently he lay there until one of the neighbor's men-at-arms found him and lopped off his head...
And oh yeah, apparently I'm distantly related to Lizzy Borden.
Explains a lot. ;-)

Snicker... if you look, you can see hid head under his "off side" shoulder. He's a great one for those "road kill" and "strychine poisoning" sleeping poses.
